Integrated photovoltaic (PV) product manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding Co. Ltd announced it has completed the first stage of its Phase III 500MW manufacturing expansion plan. The newly finished production lines add 100MW of total production capacity of polysilicon wafers, PV cells and PV modules. Yingli started trial production of polysilicon ingots from the new lines on June 1 and following detailed testing and certain modifications, recently launched production at full capacity. "The launch of the new production lines doubles our total production capacity to 200MW and symbolizes the successful completion of the first stage of our Phase III 500MW manufacturing expansion plan. This will help us ensure that our future capacity meets the market’s growing demand and it also provides a proven model for the successful completion of the remaining stages of the plan," said Liansheng Miao, chairman and CEO of Yingli. "In addition to capacity expansion, the Phase III project includes an independent systems engineering research center, training center and R&D center. We believe these facilities will help us enhance our ingot and wafer manufacturing production processes, boost our output efficiency and improve the overall conversion efficiency of our PV cells and the power generation of our PV modules," Miao added. |
