MIPS Technologies Inc. has announced that China-based PowerLayer Microsystems has licensed the MIPS32 24KEc processor core to advance the development of next-generation DTV products. In-Stat has reported the popularity of DTV in China continues to grow, with nearly 7 million households converting from analog cable TV to digital cable in 2006 alone.
