BANGALORE, India — India’s largest software services company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has opened "iLab," an R&D facility in New Delhi. iLab will focus on emerging technologies that could drive disruptive change in the global technology industry and develop re-usable frameworks using these. Work has begun on such technologies as grid computing, collaborative software development and service-oriented architectures. Other emerging architectures are also being explored. “iLab will focus on delivering value through scalable and secure platforms based on new enterprise technology component developed by TCS and its partners in merging technologies," said Gautam Shroff, vice president, technology programs, TCS Ltd., Mumbai. "It will integrate emerging technologies to improve research-driven products being developed by the company at its other R & D centers in Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore.” In recent years, the company’s research efforts also include embedded systems, bioinformatics and information security besides systems and software engineering.
