Ericsson CEO Carl-Henric Svanberg said at an investor conference that it still expects China to grant 3G mobile phone network licenses in 2008, according to a Reutersreport. In June, China released guidelines for the development of 3G technology, a month after it approved the CDMA2000, W-CDMA and TD-SCDMA standards. Svanberg estimates that China will award licenses for both W-CDMA and China’s homegrown TD-SCDMA standard some time next year. (() |
